Karissa Wright
Founder (The Animal Lover)
Owner and trainer, Karissa Wright has loved horses her entire life, at the ripe age of 4- her grandma put her on a pony at the fair and since that very day- all she could do was talk or think about horses. She started taking English lessons every week and every Christmas/ birthday present resulted in breyer horses and stuffed animals as her grandparents only hoped it was a faze. When her 13th birthday came around and she had proved to know every country song on the radio, worked her way up from raising rabbits, and read every training, care, and riding book there was to read, her grandparents realized she wasn't going to give up this dream so they got her her very first horse named Mad Love.
From taking lessons to setting out on their own, Karissa is mainly self-taught through her many horse experiences, beginning with 4-H and quickly transitioned into barrel racing. She Eventually inquired her absolute dream of a horse, a 4-year-old buckskin AQHA Mare, Lil Snow Tyree, in which she would train from the ground up with many fails but she was able to take her out to win endless champion awards through barrel racing. As the two lifelong teammates, Karissa and Snowy aged- Karissa has retired Snowy from her barrel racing days and started a breeding program with Snowy! The first colt (Smash for Cash) was dropped in 2023.
Karissa has the burning desire to help others along their Equine journeys no matter the experience level! She enjoys training horses with a calmer and gentler approach as she wants to be able to really develop, support, understand, and communicate with the horse. Her passion for equine education is evident in her unique training style, which focuses on building trust, respect, and clear communication between horse and rider. This approach has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of horse behavior, psychology, and learning patterns, making her an exceptional trainer and mentor.
As an educator, Karissa is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and expertise with others. She offers private lessons, group clinics, and online training programs designed to cater to riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced competitors. Her training sessions are tailored to meet the individual needs of each horse and rider, focusing on building confidence, improving performance, and enhancing the overall riding experience.
Karissa is committed to promoting equine welfare and advocating for responsible horse ownership. She believes that education is key to improving the lives of horses and riders alike, and is dedicated to providing resources, guidance, and support to those who share her passion for horses.
Karissa's ultimate goal is to create a community of like-minded horse enthusiasts, united by their passion for horses and their commitment to providing the best possible care and training. By sharing her knowledge, expertise, and experience, she hopes to inspire and empower others to pursue their own equine dreams, and to make a positive impact on the horse industry as a whole..
